Today we are introducing you to Ruchi Mukherjee as our BethieLife Woman Crush. This interesting lady was raised in India and became a well-known journalist for the Times of India. Her esteemed career brought her to Houston where she is still serving as a foreign correspondent and has succeeded in becoming very active in the Houston community. She was recently chosen as University of Houston’s Gender Studies Program Table Talk Luncheon Conversationalist along with Mayor Annise Parker. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Never make a decision when your angry.
What is your favorite Houston store and/or restaurant?
Favorite Houston store: Elizabeth Anthony in Uptown Park and I have some favorite pieces from Mio Boutique (my perfect black dress)
Favorite restaurant: Brasserie 19 for Sunday brunch and Hotel Granduca for high tea.
What’s on your plate? (Future projects, travel plans, etc.)
My 3rd Annual International Mother’s Day Soirée, May 7, 2015 at JW Marriott Houston Downtown. Eagerly planning to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday in New York. She has never been to that city.
How do you spend your down time?
I do like to cook for my friends and I love my long walks.

Bayou Gardens for the tranquility, Gabriela Dror’s hats and I love to explore new local jewelry designers. Zayver Jewels by Bela Thacker is elegant, sophisticated at the same time I wear to many of my high profile galas.
Tell us three of your health/beauty tips.
Hot lemon water, yoga, and I make my own face mask with yogurt. It refreshes me instantly.
What are three things you can’t live without? (Besides God, family, and friends.)
My iPhone, my PG Tips Tea (a UK Brand) and my Prada.
Do you have any irrational fears?
Occasionally superstitious.
If you weren’t in your present occupation, what would you dream of doing?
I’d own my own boutique with a cafe in Uptown Park.
What books or movies have you loved recently?
Chef (the movie), Big Eyes (Movie) and 100 Foot Journey (book).
