Location: Home of Theresa Roemer
Theresa Roemer is launching a new women’s fashion line called “True and Real”. This lovely lady invited me into her gorgeous home to view some of her collection. She has collaborated with well-known local designer David Peck to produce her line. I found her pieces to be classic with a fun flair. They are also interchangeable. I think they can be worn by women of all ages, which is hard to do. This line also will appeal to women who dress trendy (like myself) as well as those who lean toward a more classic look. The fabrics are rich, yet comfortable and durable – easy to throw on and travel with. The exciting thing about this line is the price points. Most pieces range from $200-$500. This is a treat for us all because they look much more expensive. True and Real will make its runway debut at Fashion Woodlands on September 25th. Whatever misconceptions there might be about Theresa, she and her family are friendly, hard-working, down-to-earth people who enjoy sharing their blessings with others. I had a fun afternoon chatting with them and getting a tour of their beautiful home. If I weren’t going to the Chicago/REO Speedwagon concert after, I would have wanted to stay! It would have been fun to play with their puppies on the very inviting pool/patio area 🙂
What is the name of your line?
True and Real
What inspired you to start your own clothing line?
I originally wanted to start a fitness line. I love Lulu Lemon. But David Peck and I decided to start with a full clothing line and then maybe add a fitness collection later.
Describe the look of your collection
California chic
What have been your occupations before this?
I have been for many years and still am a real estate agent. I like to flip houses. I have also been an entrepreneur, philanthropist and owned a chain of health clubs (which I later sold). I have been in the fitness industry for over 35 years and was named Miss Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico in body building. In addition, I have been honored as Mrs. Houston and Mrs. Texas.
What are the price points?
My collection is very reasonably priced typically ranging from $200-$500 per piece. I am determined to keep the quality very high, but make this line accessible to all types of women of various ages and lifestyles.
How can women view and purchase your clothing?
The collection will be available on my website, trueandrealfashion.com, and offered in a few stores in Houston and The Woodlands.
What are your hobbies?
Working out and spending time with my grandbabies (I have 7!)
Tell us something humorous about yourself
I love to work all the time to the point of it being humorous. For example, I was recently staining the patio/pool deck on a Sunday in 100* heat. I coulda/shoulda hired someone to do this….but I like the labor!
David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar?
I like both, but I’ll say David Lee Roth.
