Location: Mr. Peeples
Roses are red, violets are blue, SPLAT! It’s neon paint, and it’s all over you. The annual fundraiser for Fresh Arts titled “The Paint Ball” was recently held on at Mr. Peeples. This eclectic and refreshing party was great people watching, with everyone showing up in costumers reflecting their version of paint. I love the 3rd floor warehouse-type layout of Mr. Peeples, which allowed for plenty of space for mingling, food, drinks, art on display, live body painting, private seating areas and a full stage with the awesome DJ Lady Bunny spinning great tunes. This year the organization honored Vivian Wise for her tireless work and dedication to the philanthropic arena in Houston. Over the years she has given to countless charitable organizations, and now, her new fashion event Heart Of Fashion is also a 501(c)3, with it’s proceeds benefitting several charities. Guests partied in technicolor all night long!
Fresh Arts is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to strengthening the sustainability and vibrancy of Houston’s arts sector by bolstering the capacity and professional practice of artists and arts organizations and enhancing the public’s engagement with the arts. They help artists to thrive through education and networking.
Fresh Arts is committed to the growth of a thriving, innovative, and diverse arts sector in Houston and towards that end, provides programming and services in the arenas of professional development training, resource aggregation, showcasing, community building, and audience development. They are a help-desk and small business development center, as well as an advocate, intermediary, and support network for Houston’s creative community.
