Location: Tarakaan
Neither hurricane like weather nor post Halloween hangovers could dampen the spirits of a pack of Sunday fun day revelers this past weekend. I really appreciate those of you who came out to my Tarakaan Sunday Funday brunch. What a cool, creative crowd spanning ages and backgrounds to kick of the first of a series of brunches to raise awareness and funds for various Houston area non-profits at newly opened Tarakaan Midtown. Selecting a cause near and dear to my heart – the Houston Ballet – as a beneficiary of proceeds, me and my bunch enjoyed a first taste of the recently opened restaurant and lounge’s new Sunday offerings, with Tarkaan donating the proceeds.
With Houston Ballet dancer James Reed spinning tunes, guests sipped on a rainbow assortment of mimosas and bell inis and munched on Chef Micah Rideout’s creative, Asian-influenced fare, ranging from a Curry Crab Cakes to Roti French Toast. It was all so yummy! I love the food and creative drinks at Tarakaan, and especially the ambience. Great for brunch or dinner.
Upcoming brunch matchups include this Sunday’s brunch hosted by Gregg Harrison and David Hoctor benefitting Urban Angels of Houston In Touch with Peru and November 15 with Emily Henry, Karen Peden and Chris Williams supporting Jamie’s Animal Rescue.
