Location: The Corinthian
Stages Repertory Theater held their annual gala last night appropriately titled STARSTRUCK. This is always one of the funnest galas of the year with people dressing super “red carpet glamour”. This years gala, chaired by Jo and Jim Furr, was exceptionally fun due to the great people watching, music, dancing, food and silent auction items. Jo and Jim put together a great committee including Elaine and Ray Messer, Ellyn Wulfe, C.C Ensell, Alexis Rogers, Mary Elizabeth Sand, Helen Shaffer, and Lisa Pope-Westerman. Everyone had the best time taking pics with Hollywood props, backdrops and impersonators. Later in the evening several people were able to raid some of Stages’ costumes set up in the ladies/mens rooms and play dress up! So cute!!
Ted Swindley, Stages’ Founding Artistic Director received the ninth annual Theodore Award for Visionary Leadership in honor of ongoing contributions to Stages. Ted founded Stages in 1978, creating a home for new and progressive work and providing a range of opportunity for local artists. Ted developed the iconic musical Always… Patsy Cline and premiered at Stages in 1988, after which it went on to become one of the most often produced shows in the U.S. Stages is the third largest theater in Houston and the sixth largest in Texas.
LOVE this party 🙂
