Location: Flemings Steak House
Saks Fifth Avenue Houston will be officially opening it’s new store on April 28th. This is so exciting! The decor is going to be stunning, starting with the grand spiral staircase in the middle. I recently attended a press dinner at Flemings where they gave details regarding the relocation of its store within the Galleria. The new two-level Saks will encompass 200,000 s.f. of sheer glamour, fashion and shopping delight. I recently did a shoot at Saks with Neal Hamil model Emileigh Meloy and thought it a perfect tribute to add to this post. (Emileigh’s dress is by Tanya Taylor, Jacket by Alice & Olivia, jewelry by Adrianna Orsini, purse by Edie Parker. )
On hand at the dinner to explain all the exciting nuances of the new Saks were Bobby Dees, General Manager of Saks Houston, along with Marc Metrick, President of Saks Fifth Avenue and Tracy Margolies, Chief Merchant of Saks.
“This store demonstrates our commitment to the important Houston market. It’s so exciting to be able to bring the new, luxurious and modern Saks to Houston. We are thrilled to be able to better serve our customers – both current and new – in a store that exemplifies our commitment to offering our customers the latest fashions and the most personalized service,” commented Marc Metrick.
Designed in partnership with CBX, the new location boasts 20,000 square feet more than the existing store, providing space to showcase the second largest beauty and fragrance department in the Saks Fifth Avenue portfolio, including an all-new 10022-SHOE department. Many additional designers will be showcased throughout the store and an enhanced Fifth Avenue Club, with eight private shopping suites, will also be featured.
The store will also offer the Personal Service Experience, bringing the best of Saks Fifth Avenue to customers via a custom Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which will travel directly to a client’s home, office, or hotel room. 51Fifteen Restaurant & Lounge, a local favorite recognized for its distinctive cuisine, will join Saks Fifth Avenue in opening in the new location, serving both lunch and dinner. In addition to private dining, an active bar will wrap the staircase in the center of the first floor.
Look for more “shopping vignettes” in the new Saks, walk-in areas for each of the designers, including clothing, handbags and jewelry. Think of it as an elevated presentation with a feeling of several boutiques under one roof. The cosmetics/fragrance departments will cover 20,000 s.f., the largest footprint outside of NYC.
The first floor will include the Men’s Dept., complete with a full-service bar, cosmetics, handbags, shoes, jewelry, etc., all surrounded by museum quality pops of color. The second floor will contain women’s clothing and the new 5115 restaurant, all decorated in modern whites, grays and blacks.
Look for several exciting events to be held leading up to the April 28th Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Can’t wait! #saksonthemove
