Location: Downtown Houston

Check out the new Sky Dance mural located in downtown Houston. This new mural, at 30,000 s.f. is now the largest in Houston!   I’m obsessed and  couldn’t wait to strike a pose in front of this new mural! The painting is based on three Houston Ballet soloist dancers, Monica Gomez, Nozomi Iijima, and Allison Miller. The mural adds a colorful splash of art to enhance Houston’s unique personality. Jim Nelson, Executive Director of Houston Ballet stated, “We look forward to this mural being on display for years to come as Houston Ballet continues its mission to bring people together through artistry and dance.” I have been on the Board of Houston Ballet for 18 years, so this mural is now my fave.

The painting was created by visual artist C. Finley and commissioned by the WEDGE Group. Finley, based out of New York, is known for her elaborate geometric paintings with skillful use of color. Her vibrant works reflect her activism through street art. “I am honored and delighted to be creating a mural for the people of Houston,” said Finley. “Sky Dance celebrates the city and adds a pop of color and joie de vivre to downtown Houston.” We thank you Miss Finley for bringing joy, art and color to our city!
