Yesterday morning was the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and opening of the new Saks Fifth Avenue Galleria. What an event it was! Saks pulled out all the stops with a marching band, official ribbon-cutting ceremony with the New York Saks executives, circus-type characters, an awesome DJ and all kinds of shopping promotions. I can only imagine the joy Saks President Marc Metrick, Chief Merchant Tracy Margolies, Saks EVP Larry Bruce and Houston Saks General Manager Bobby Dees felt in cutting the ribbon that they worked so hard for. It took no time at all for the store to be packed with excited shoppers who were all raving about this new Houston landmark. People were gawking over the amazing layout of the store, buying lots of goodies, sipping drinks and coffee at the downstairs bar, dancing to the DJ music and Grille 5115 was full of customers. Manager Bobby Dees and his wife Weezie were generously greeting guests throughout the store. I can’t wait to go back!! Houston…we don’t have a problem 🙂 with our new Saks <3
