Location: Miro Sculpture
During the construction of the JP Morgan Chase Tower in downtown Houston, an art committee commissioned Joan Miro to create a sculpture for the skyscraper’s plaza at the corner of Milam and Capitol. Miro was nearly 90 years old at the time. This “male stick figure of an artist with pallets in the primary colors” is at least five stories high. It bears no title other than “Miro”
I felt really small walking past this massive structure and also proud to be a Houstonian…I was also dressed quite differently than most of the people walking in and out of the adjacent office buildings!!
