Today I want to showcase Lucky Cat Beauty’s Aubrie Layne, whose majestic hands can adorn your face with beautiful makeup and make you feel like a queen. Aubrie, founder of Lucky Cat Beauty and Lucky Cat Makeup is no new face in the beauty industry. Her career started at just 18 years old at Laura Mercier,  where her passion and artistry took her all over the world. “That job was similar to being on tour like a musician, every week you wake up in a new city, but for me it was at a different makeup studio each time”, says Aubrie.

After years of experiences and opportunities, Aubrie chose to leave Laura Mercier, and became the in-house make up artist at the high end Hair Therapy Studio salon. Her clientele quickly grew, not only being complimented on her beautiful make-up artistry,  but also her ability to work quickly with precision. It was during her time there that she started personalizing lipsticks for her clients, which ignited a flame and the thought of branching out and doing this on her own.

It was not a walk in the park to end up where she is today, but Aubrie’s resilience, determination and positive outlook got her to exactly where she wants to be. Now she has her own studio, which she operates along with her life partner, Jules OCampo. Her studio, conveniently located in the Decorative Center on Woodway, overlooks Houston’s skyline. These girls are so fun and adorable, you want to go to the studio just to hang out with them!!

Lucky Cat sells their own line of makeup, as well as a few of her favorites like Ellis Faas. I was complaining that I am not happy with my current foundation, and she quickly introduced me to the moisturizing, but lightweight foundation by Ellis Faas. They were also commissioned to develop some personalized makeup for Heart of Fashion. Her high profile clientele know they have an artist working on their makeup, but more importantly someone who truly wants them to feel their very best. “Making people feel happy and pretty is what it is all about” say these girls.
