When JAWS came out in 1975, it permanently altered how we all look at the ocean. Before then, I, like everyone else would run into the ocean for a swim while on vacation. Well after JAWS came out, everybody was scared to put their toes in the water figuring there must be a great white lurking nearby. JAWS is considered the “Father of the Summer Blockbuster” and is firmly embedded in popular culture. We all instantly know the sound of that music playing when the shark is approaching.

There have been persistent rumors about a new JAWS movie being considered or in the works. There are other movies currently being “re-booted” such as Ben Hur, so why not JAWS? Come on Hollywood, that would be fun. In the meantime, head over to the Downtown Aquarium for some fish watching.
