Always a premier occasion on Houston’s gala calendar,  the Houston Grand  Opera Ball 2019: Cielito Lindo is going to be inspired by Mexico’s rich, vibrant culture. A land that inspires awe with its colorful art, landscapes, architecture, folklore, and cuisine. This dress, by Basix~Black Label would be a perfect reflection of this theme.

Cielito Lindo—with dual translations of “Pretty Darling” or “Beautiful Sky”—is a traditional Mexican song written by Quirino Mendoza y Cortes in 1882.  It is one of the most popular songs widely known throughout the Spanish-speaking world and beyond as a symbol of Mexico.
