Location: Feathers, Fate and Steel
Feathers, Fate & Steel is a mobile boutique and collective showcasing carefully curated clothing, jewelry and accessories from indie designers around the world; including a future line of their own. This boutique was founded by my dear friend Susanne Dawley and her incredibly creative/artistic/talented daughters, Danielle and Dominique. The brand was inspired by their shared love of travel, timeless pieces, and amazing artists they met along the way. FF&S offers an eclectic collection of quality goods, often handmade, and one-of-a-kind, mixed in with rare pieces collected on their wayward travels. Feathers, Fate & Steel was born from the lifestyle of the gypsy jet setter, an ode to days of endless summers, and these ladies want to share and inspire that within their customers.
This is a family business created from talent and love by two sisters and their mother. Having grown up traveling the world, endlessly collecting beautifully crafted handmade goods and stories to go with them, these gals found it impossible to imagine opening a brick and mortar store. They wanted to be able to go to their customers, bring their closet with, and share the spirit of adventure and a unique experience with them.
They finally cut the proverbial red tape to their online store and are excited to be able to start reaching out to customers before they hit the road. At the same time they are in the final stages of restoring their unique and beautiful 1946 Spartan Manor and decking it out to be a gypsy caravan closet. Soon after, they plan on taking the ol’ girl across the country to collect and be apart of more stories and inspiration. They are also in the midst of creating their own line of boho wear including jewelry, gorgeous silk limited edition kimonos and their own hand drawn designer tees. In this shoot, I am wearing their tee, designed by Danielle, who plans on designing much more for their line.
