I’m continuing my Back in Black mood this week with this awesome leather jacket by David Black, metallic dress by Ungaro and heels by Joyce Echols. To debut his first collection, 24-year old David Black chose to return to his Texas roots and brought his denim/leather rock-and-roll vibes with him to Sloan/Hall. David’s infatuation with fashion and music started long before his designs did. Always loving the western feel, vintage and denims, and having a love for rock-and-roll just made the designs in his collection come naturally. It was when David was in London a few years ago that he was inspired by British fashion and culture. He bought a denim jacket from a vintage shop, and from there the story begins.
Although denim is Davids main fabric choice, he does limited one-of-a-kind leather jackets as well. The minute I saw this over-sized black leather jacket with gold grommets, hand painted script, and his signature lightning bolt on one sleeve, I had to put it on! This jacket can be worn with just about anything from leggings to jeans to a long gown. I decided to style it with this stunning Emanuel Ungaro metallic dress. The contrast of the edgy leather jacket with the elegant gown is just my style.

Then to complete the look, I’m wearing these perfect black leather with gold stud heels from amazing designer Joyce Echols. Joyce’s shoes are truly unique. She creates  combinations – blending classic, contemporary styles in an eclectic and edgy manner.The heels I am wearing are a perfect presentation of how she combines two themes into one shoe. Joyce may be a beautiful Houstonian, but her shoes are made in Italy and worn by women everywhere, including many celebrities.
