Amoeba Music is an independent music chain with stores in Berkeley, San Francisco and Hollywood, California.  The San Francisco store, which opened in 1997 in the Haight-Ashbury district, is especially notable for its size, occupying 24,000 s.f.  The Los Angeles location opened in 2001 on Sunset Boulevard. This store stocks over 250,000 titles, which makes it the largest independent music stores in the world.  All 3 locations offer CD’s, vinyl records, movies, video games and much other music memorabilia.  Amoeba is known for having the most diverse selection of music and movies under one roof.
