Location:  The Star

When I first saw this peek-a-boo floral and mesh gown by Nicholas Nguyen of Mysterious by N.P.N  I was in love! This young local designer is one of my favorites and this dress exemplifies why. His creativity, artisanship, sexiness and glamour are all reflected in this amazing gown.

Nicholas was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with a childhood dream of becoming a major fashion designer. As a part of a small group of advanced level students that were awarded the opportunity to study abroad in the United States, and just 15 years old, Nicholas arrived in America ready to pursue his dreams as a designer. He devoted all of his free time to studying every aspect of fashion design, and through lots of practice, he taught himself how to sew. Since then Nicholas has shown at New York Fashion Week, Fashion X Austin and Houston and several others. He has also won many design awards already in his young career.

For this shoot we headed to The Star, a luxury apartment high-rise in downtown Houston. Who wouldn’t want to shoot pictures under their stunning arched high ceilings and columns.

An icon from the fabled days of the early Texas oil business is now downtown Houston’s newest residential high-rise. The historic 1915 Texaco Building has been beautifully reimagined for modern life – 286 rental homes of surpassing luxury – highly desirable amenities – the entire city for enjoyment and discovery. LOVE.
